Our Game Plan!

Our current kitchen and living space downstairs needs a complete overhaul! Our plan is to tackle the entire first floor all at once, adding a new kitchen, half bathroom and expanded living space. Since Chris and I are tackling the project ourselves... it may be a long road, but we are going to keep looking for the light at the end of the tunnel! This blog will allow us to share our experiences and keep our family and friends up to date with the progress.

Doors & Windows... Lesson Learned!

After all of our hard work to refurbish the old casement windows... we found these brand new Anderson windows for a $100 a piece. Even though it was painful, Chris ended up re framing the openings and installing the new windows. In the long run they will be more energy efficient and weather tight. Lesson learned!

Reuse and Recycle!

The original windows in the enclosed porch were really good quality but in total disrepair. We stripped the paint, sanded the wood, added new glaze and painted with a fresh coat of white. They truly were a labor of love, but ended up looking amazing! We were definitely able to save some money but this project took us a total of three full weekends. In the end, we are happy we did it.
